                                                                                                                                  Modern Family
As my class watched a couple episodes of Modern Family, we each had to choose a character to analyze. The character I chose was Cameron. In this TV show Cameron’s character uses masterful hyperbole, and a little comparison in order to show how Cameron is gay, but you still have to love him.
In this show, Cameron is played by Eric Stonestreet. Eric has to pretend that he is gay in this show. The character Cameron uses hyperbole because he is supposed to be a gay man, whom he is but they over exaggerate it and try to make him seem even gayer than most homosexuals actually are. That is the main exaggeration they use on Cameron. Cameron has a very big dramatic personality. His personality is very outgoing as well. In the show he exaggerates a lot of things also.
Cameron is gay and has been Mitchell’s partner for about five years. He grew up on a farm and is a very big sports fan. Cameron also fosters many unusual hobbies such as collecting antique fountain pens, being adept in Japanese flower arrangement, and filming home movies. Currently, he acts as a stay-at-home dad to Lily. He is a rock drummer and loves to jam out! Although he is partners with Mitchell they are much different. Even though they say that when Cameron and Mitchell were first together Cameron was skinny, Cameron is a lot bigger than Mitchell is. Mitchell is a low-key, mild-mannered person. Cameron is not. Mitchell is not ashamed of his homosexuality. Mitchell is Jay’s son and Cameron is not. These are some reason why Cameron and Mitchell are a lot different from each other.

My Modest Proposal
War is a huge problem in the world. It is causing great world turmoil, damaging countries everywhere and also breaking up families. The economy is also greatly affected because war torn countries cannot import and export goods effectively. War is one reason why our economy is really bad because it is costing us a lot of money to fund troops and supplies. People who go into the war are usually young adults. It is not as easy as it sounds to make it into the war; you have to be in really good shape. For example fat people who are not in shape have no chance in making it into the war. But someone who is athletic and is very healthy has a really good chance to make it. The war has been going on for a really long time and the U.S. is trying to come up with a plan to end the war once and for good.
The United States, over the past couple years have been trying to build an iron suit that could end the war. They are planning to build an iron suit that has several different weapons and the suit also can fly. It can fly for over 200 hours at a top speed of 400 mph and when it is almost out of energy all you have to do is turn the suit off and it charges on its own. The crazy thing about it is it only has to charge for only 2 hours until it is complete. It comes with an attached helmet and this helmet can target things and if you focus on something you can lock on to it so it’s an automatic kill. This suit will be powerful enough to end all wars and the U.S. will be the most powerful country in the world forever. They are planning on building at least 20 of these suits and they think that will be enough to make the other countries surrender. Since they are making 20 of them and 20 can take over the world, that means that we won’t need thousands of people every year to join the army, marines, air force etc. this will save the U.S a magnificent amount of money and we will get out of debt and rule the world.
The U.S. finally finished building 25 of these suits and they had to find the top 25 best troops that have experienced being in the war. They had to take lessons on using one of these suits. After all of them took their lessons, they all went out to an open field to test them out. All 25 troops got the feel of this suit and said it was the greatest creation ever made in the world history. These 25 troops are going to be legendary and they will be flying all over the world constantly to try to keep the whole world safe and calm. This suit will change the world and how the Americans will live their life forever.

Paragraph for "Kiss and Tell"

Shifting from a good romantic night to an odd awkward night, in “Kiss and Tell”, Alain de Botton employs unique characterization in order to show how the family cares for him, but that the dad is a nerd and the mom where’s the pants in the family but is embarrassing. There is a lot about how the mom is embarrassing. “I hope she didn’t come with one of her gentlemen friends. She’s really too old for that.” This is a quote that the daughter is saying about her mother. “He must have gone to buy programmes.” This is another quote the daughter says, but it’s about the father. This is one of the quotes that show how he is embarrassing. This is how this short story uses characterization.

Awkward Moment
I’ll never forget about that moment. I was probably around 8 years old and I was at McDonald’s with my family. At this McDonald’s we would always go to they would always have a fake Ronald McDonald. He would always be sitting on a bench with his legs crossed. Every time I would go to this McDonald’s I would go over to it I would sit in his lap. I don’t know why I liked to sit in his lap but I would always do it. So, one time I went to McDonalds after my brother’s baseball game. We then went to this McDonalds and there were a lot of people there. I saw that everyone was crowding Ronald. I wanted to sit on his lap like I would always do. I didn’t know why everyone was crowding him so I ran in front of everyone and jumped on his lap thinking he was fake. Then I felt that he was moving and he touched me with his hands and I freaked out. I thought that he was fake but this time it was someone dressed up just like Ronald to entertain the little kids. Just like me. I then jumped off his lap and ran back to my dad crying hysterically. This moment was really scary at the time and this is my awkward moment.
